This site started December 1995. Everything you see here was created by me (Detlef Beyer). Some of the pictures are based on sources I found on the net. I hope nobody has a problem with it (since I modified the few pictures not 100% by myself a lot). I did the whole work just for fun and I hope the content is interesting for other web-kiters. Since english is not my native language, you should expect a lot of spelling mistakes - with the great help of James Ervin at Blue Ridge Kites I fixed most of them.

	23.01.2000 The Kite Paradise is now over 5 years old and there were several changes over the time. The last update was our WML port for the Buggy database. We have the first WAP content for kites now :)

01.10.1998 Sorry - I had not enough time to do what I should do - update this page for nearly 5 month ;(( There were several major changes to the Kite Paradise - most of them because I wanted to include more databased functionality. So now you have the first searchable hotlink list for kite pages, a little QuickVote item and the buggy location database is now Lasso powered. Also I switched the domain - but this is only a temporary change.

	14.02.1997 I included a list with all (around 250) aktive kite related links I found. This list is not commented it's just a simple collection. The "real" HotList now contains 69 entries.

	09.02.1997 The Kite Paradise now contains the ratings. All GIFs are now on the NetScape 216 palette und should look better on poor windoze systems.

	05.02.1997 With two sites the HotList now contains 66 entries.I tested the new layout with NS 3.01 on a Mac (no problems), on Win95 (shockwave produces problems on 8Bit monitors, everything else woks) and with MSIE 3.0 on a Mac (everything works but the JavaScripts for the rollover and the head-animations) and on Win95 (same problem). NS 2.01 on a Mac also works fine (without rollover).

	02.02.1997 The HotList now contains 64 commented entries with or without a screenshot.

	29.01.1997 I had to do some minor fixes on the new frames. I killed the cookie - I didn't need it realy. Hopefully the pages are OK now...

	27.01.1997 The Kite Paradise got the LookSmart Editors Choice Award. The say: "This award conveys the highest standard for providing a useful and high quality website." That is a pleasure for me. If you like my site too, I'm satisfied ;-).

	22.01.1997 Complete Setup of all pages. I switched to frames 6 month ago and now was the time to do a "real" frame-version. >Hopefully a lot of people switch to NetScape 3.0 or the InternetExplorer...

	04.01.1997 I'm back and made some small changes. The HotList now contains 59 commented entries. Three entries in the buggy survey. Now we have a total of 40 entries.

	13.12.1996 It's birthday time. The Kite Paradise is now online for one year. Thanks to all visitors, friends and people who helped me to create this site!

	03.12.1996 I'm out for holiday in chile... I'll be back after X-mas.

	31.11.1996 Three entries in the buggy survey. Now we have a total of 37 entries.

	28.10.1996 I added my first Kite Aerial Photography (KAP) shots. The shots are not very professional but you should take a look by yourself.

	23.10.1996 Uff - no time for a UpDate since two month. I'm sorry for that. Now I added some new entries to the buggy survey. Since I got a fantastic KAP (Kite Aerial Photography) rig from Brooks Leffler, I will include some new pictures to the site in the next weeks. Stay tuned.

	07.07.1996 We switched to a new server. Now the Kite Paradise is running on a AIX 4.1 machine with a NetScape Commerce Server. During the porting of the Kite Paradise to the new machine there occured some problems - I will fix everything!

06.06.1996 I put an updated version of the ShockWave-Game Kity® online. At this time it is only a test and will (sorry) not work with all browser/ShockWave configurations. The new ShockWave 5 plugIn is in beta-stage and seems to have problems with the NetScape Navigator version 3. Kity® is the only ShockWave5 part inside the Kite Paradise - the rest will run with ShockWave 4 (and Atlas PR2 or Netscape 2).

	19.05.1996 The Buggy Survey contains now 27 entries.

	02.05.1996 To show you my single line conyne I added some new images to my gallery.

	28.04.1996 The Buggy Survey contains now 23 entries. There are also some changes to the gallery.

	08.04.1996 The Buggy Survey is now open for research. You can search for buggy places all over the world!

	30.03.1996 I added 3 hotlinks to other kite sites in the net. Now the hotlink page includes 52 links.

	26.03.1996 Back from hospital still with my leg fixed for the next 6 weeks.

	08.03.1996 I went out just flying around a little bit with my Competition C2 foil. With only moderate wind the foil pulled me across the grass - with much fun until I tried to stop with my left leg. I broke my leg and went to hospital for 14 days...

	11.02.1996 A lot of small changes all over the site. The big news today is the ShockWave game Kity©. You can play the little (50K) game online (fly a kite online - enter the VR century) or download a copy.

	02.02.1996 I knew about some sites using a layout based on frames (NetScape only - as usual) and after some hours of thinking I decided to switch to a slightly framed layout. I hope you like it and I would like to get some statements about it.

	31.01.1996 Just a small change to the hotlinks. If you use NetScape 2.0 you can click on a link, see the new page and still have the hotlist available. This seems to be a more practicable solution if you are browsing through the different sites.

	27.01.1996 I added 10 hotlinks to other kite sites in the net. Now the hotlink page includes 49 links.

	26.01.1996 I just added a ShockWave animation to my homepage. I hope you like it!

	22.01.1996 Because I want to include a world wide database for good places to buggy inside the KiteParadise, I started the Buggy Survey.

	18.12.1995 James Ervin at Blue Ridge Kites corrected all my spelling mistakes. I have to thank him a lot.

15.12.1995 Small changes to the tips & power kiting area. New Hotlist link at Starting Point. I changed a small (34*29 pixel !) image in my title GIF because I got the base source from an other kite site and they have problems with this: "Also I noticed my Flash Point in your main banner, FYI the images on my page (exluding the Gallery images) are copyrighted". I don't want to worry anybody, so if you still want to see the little image (much bigger and somehow different) jump to Sky Vision Kites.
