I think power-kiting needs a separate page. One reason is that I like my buggy
and the big foils very much and I want to cover it with the appropriate amount
of web-space. Another reason for the distinction is That power-kiting is very
different from flying normal stunt kites.

Texel 1   My Quadrifoil C2, the buggy and me.
The picture was taken in November 95 on a nice island in the Netherlands, called Texel.
All pictures you find on this page were taken during this trip. The photographer is Tom Doch.
I'm fortunate enough to have three different size foils. One is a quad-line C2 and the others are normal dual line foils. The pull of the 4qm C2 compared to the 3.6 or 3.0 foils is unbelievable.   Texel 2
Texel 3   The Windtools buggy behind the C2.
Even with low winds it is fun to fly the C2. During my first trials I had to learn some sailing basics. My main problem was to gain speed without flying straight downwind (and speeding up faster the kite... crash).

If you fly the foils toward the center of the wind and do fast turns you can surf across the whole beach. I think there is a record of a 14km tour on shoes ( I don't know who did it).   Texel 4

Texel 5   I fly the C2 with a trapeze to be more comfortable even in heavy winds. In the back you see the lighthouse on the north end of the island. The beach is not the best for a buggy - it's a bit too small.
